Our helmet is designed to protect the head from impacts and impacts, but it cannot guarantee complete protection against all types of injuries. Even at low speeds, accidents can lead to serious, or in the worst case, fatal injuries. No helmet can completely eliminate the risk.

Remember that the helmet protects the head, but not the neck, spine, or the rest of the body. Be careful when doing activities on the water, and always follow the safety rules to avoid accidents. Before going on the water, make sure the helmet fits well, and the chinstrap is taut and adjusted correctly.

Read this guide carefully to understand the helmet's features, maintenance, and conditions of use. Keep the instructions for the life of the helmet and check the fit before each use.

For optimal protection, follow these guidelines:

  1. Use: The helmet is designed to absorb part of the energy in the event of impacts and blows. It is made for water sports activities. The helmet is not suitable for activities outside the water, motor sports or other activities that require specific protection.

  2. Fit and use: To provide optimal protection, the helmet must be properly adapted to your head. Measure your head at the widest point and use the size guide on our website https://www.sjoprotection.com/ to find the right size. The helmet should sit stable and comfortably without moving when you shake your head.

  3. Strap adjustment: When wearing the helmet for the first time, adjust the straps so that they form a "Y" under the earlobe without covering the ear. The chin strap should be tightened comfortably around the neck, not directly on the chin. Test the fit by opening and closing your mouth - you should feel a light pressure against your neck. Tighten the two straps on the back of the helmet with each use.

  4. Storage and maintenance: Store the helmet dry, at room temperature, and avoid contact with sharp objects or chemicals. Do not expose the helmet to temperatures above 50°C. We recommend that you replace your helmet every five years.
